Acclimation
There are various methods for acclimating Coral, Inverts, and Fish. Different people have their own preferred methods but one thing they all have in common is that they slowly transition their specimen to their new environment. The ocean is a very stable environment and for that reason the species dwelling within it have not had to adopt ways to cope with sudden changes in salinity, temperature, and water chemistry. Drip Acclimation is a very popular method for introducing new specimens, but it is certainly not the only way. If you have questions about acclimation please send us an email.
